Shilpa Shetty Set to Return to Kannada Cinema After 18 Years in Dhruva Sarja’s KD – The Devil

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is all set to make her comeback in Kannada cinema after a gap of almost 18 years. She will be seen in Prem’s KD – The Devil, alongside Dhruva Sarja. Shilpa took to Instagram to share the news with her fans and followers, where she posted her character poster in the upcoming film.

In the poster, the 47-year-old actress is seen in a white saree with red polka dots, wearing retro shades. She is standing in front of a black ambassador car with a leopard print handbag in her hands. Shilpa also wished her fans a happy and prosperous new year on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa.

Shilpa Shetty was born in Karnataka and did her last Kannada-language film – Auto Shankar – in 2005, opposite Upendra in an action comedy movie. She made her film debut with Abbas-Mustan’s 1993 thriller Baazigar, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She has since starred in several notable Bollywood films such as Aag (1994), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Dhadkan (2000), Phir Milenge (2004), and Life in a Metro (2007).

In 2021, Shilpa made her comeback to films after 14 years with Priyadarshan’s comedy film Hungama 2. She was last seen in Nikamma, alongside Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia. Besides KD – The Devil, the actress will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Prime Video series Indian Police Force, headlined by Sidharth Malhotra. It will mark her debut on OTT platforms.

Shilpa Shetty’s return to Kannada cinema has already generated a lot of buzz amongst her fans and the moviegoers in general. Her fans are eagerly waiting to see her create magic on the big screen once again after a long hiatus. The film KD – The Devil is set to release soon, and Shilpa’s fans are eagerly waiting for it to hit the theatres. Her comeback has also raised the hopes of many other actors who have been looking for an opportunity to return to their regional cinema.
